Proactively managing power protection and cooling solutions in a networked environment has become a profitable (and necessary) client service for many of our MSP partners and IT professionals.  That’s why I am pleased to announce our new technology alliance with American Power Conversion (APC) by Schneider Electric.

In today’s marketplace, power protection and cooling solutions are gaining traction and visibility among SMB and enterprise alike.  Why?  The reasons are endless, but here’s just a few:  The economy, the ongoing need for businesses to cut costs and ensure efficiency, the greening of IT, and the focus of the new administration to conserve energy.

Bottom line, we pursued this alliance with APC to make it easier and more cost-effective for our partners and IT service organizations to deploy, discover, monitor and manage APC power protection and cooling solutions via our new N-central 6.7.

As we mentioned yesterday on our press release, the integration of N-central 6.7 and APC products has proven to be a real time-saver for our partners and even helped prevent client power outages.  Just take a read at what Brian Holt a technical consultant at HEIT Consulting in Fort Collins, Colorado.

“Because we monitor so many remote clients and data centers, we are constantly battling power-related issues on behalf of our clients,” says Holt. “Many times, our ability to monitor clients’ UPS units for battery condition through N-central has saved them from branch outages. In addition, the ability to monitor power distribution units has enabled us to mitigate the risk associated with circuit overutilization.”

I don’t care who you’re selling to, that’s a great added value point for businesses of any size!
